A lifestyle blog bringing you fashion, music, food, and everything else that's just nice about Bristol and beyond!
We don’t have to tell you that we LOVE us a bit of Bristol. So when we heard that two very special Bristol institutions were turning the ripe old age of 10, AND that they were having a big old party to celebrate, we knew we had to get involved.
The birthday boys and girls in question are Temwa, a truly wonderful community driven charity who aim to fight poverty in Northern Malawi, and none other than Pieminister, the undisputed kings of all things pie. Both of these guys were born and bred in Stoke’s Croft, and have since grown up, with Pieminister spreading the pie love at every festival worth its salt, and Temwa hosting all manner of fantastic fundraising events, such as the ever popular Art for Africa urban art auctions and their Monsterpiece club nights.
To celebrate turning 10, Temwa and Pieminister have teamed up to throw the anniversary of a lifetime at @Bristol next Thursday 5th December (much more impressive than my Spice Girl’s themed tenth party!) and they’ve enlisted the help of some fellow Bristol favourites to help them do it! It goes without saying that Pieminister, with help from ethical caterers The Surplus Supper Club, will be putting on one hell of a spread, with a three course gourmet meal, and once the plates are cleared guests can dance the night away, with tunes spun courtesy of Bristol legend, DJ Derek. If that wasn’t enough, there’ll also be live music from Babyhead, First Degree Burns and The Mankala Band, and the night will be hosted by Mock the Week and Never Mind the Buzzcocks star, Ben Norris.
So if, like us, you think this sounds like the perfect night out in Bristol, then guess what- we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away!
All you need to do is go to @its_just_nice and RT the tweet we’ll be sharing about the event. We’ll then pick the winner, at random, who’ll win a pair of tickets worth £55 each, which includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival, three courses of the finest food – all ethically sourced – and all the fun of the post-dinner party!
We’ll be announcing the winner at 5pm on Wednesday 27th November, so if you fancy celebrating with some of Bristol’s finest then get tweeting, and don’t worry if you don’t win – there are still a few tickets on sale for the event, so you can grab yours here.
