A lifestyle blog bringing you fashion, music, food, and everything else that's just nice about Bristol and beyond!
Wow – what a week this has been! It’s been crazy busy (note the lack of updates from us recently) but it’s also felt like it’s gone incredibly slowly. Chuck in the fact that it’s the end of the month and we’re all scraping together the contents of the fridge in order to eat, and it all makes for pretty depressing picture.
But all of that is about to change…
Not only is it Friday (hoo-bloody-rah) but it’s pay day too. Hands in the air pay day millionaires!! Spend it all at once!! On top of that it’s The Harbour Festival this weekend, which weather permitting, means a lovely laid back weekend of drinking cider in my favourite place in the world.
The Harbour Festival kicks off tonight with live music in Queen’s Square from 5:30, and at 9pm our very own DJ Derek, Bristol legend and reggae aficionado will be taking to the decks for the very last time! Whilst I’m slightly cynical about whether it truly will be his last ever live gig I’m still more than happy to go down and have a dance in honour of the world’s best 71 year old DJ*.
*fact unproven but I challenge any of you to find me another 71 year old DJ like Derek – especially after you’ve watched the two videos below!
This week Meg’s chair dancing to…
It would be totally wrong to chose anything but a Reggae tune for this week’s chair dancer, and this track needs no introduction, but I’ll do it anyway.
This afternoon I’ve been dancing like a loon to one of my favourite Reggae tracks (and favourite ever tracks!) – Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley. Enjoy!!
